Galatyn Park Apartments

In short

Galatyn Park is the part of central Richardson around Galatyn Park station, which opened on the DART Red Line on July 1, 2002. Beside the station stand the Eisemann Center, whose main hall seats 1,563, and a 250-acre urban center with apartments, offices and a hotel.

The Eisemann Center, a 2-acre plaza and the Telecom Corridor, on the Red Line.

Galatyn Park in three stops

  1. Where it is

Central Richardson on the US 75 frontage road, around Galatyn Park station and the Galatyn Park urban center. The station is at 2500 North Central Expressway, ZIP code 75082, and the Eisemann Center at 2351 Performance Drive.

  2. What is here

The Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts, main venue of the Richardson and Plano symphony orchestras; the Galatyn Park urban center, with a 2-acre pedestrian plaza, a hotel and mixed-use buildings; and offices on the Telecom Corridor. The plaza hosts the annual Wildflower! Arts and Music Festival.

  3. Getting around

Galatyn Park station on the DART Red Line; a shuttle bus crosses US 75 to the Palisades office and residential park. By car: US 75.

CityLine/Bush, where the Silver Line to DFW Airport stops, is one Red Line stop north.

The hall, the plaza and the station

  1. The hall

The Eisemann Center opened in September 2002 and belongs to the City of Richardson. Its Margaret and Al Hill Performance Hall seats 1,563, and a second theater takes 230 to 400 people, depending on how it is set up.

  2. The plaza

Between the hall, the station and the Renaissance hotel, the plaza fountain has 70 programmable jets that run by day and by night. The same square holds the Wildflower! festival each year.

  3. The station

Galatyn Park station opened two months before the hall, on July 1, 2002. Its art has a technology theme: panels spell the station’s name in Morse code, analog signal and teletype. Arapaho Center is the next stop south.

If you want evenings out without a drive home, this is the Richardson block where a concert hall, a hotel and a train platform share one plaza.
