Living in Lewisville

Three things to know about Lewisville. The rent table comes later, with its source and date.

  1. 01

    Lewisville Lake

The lake was finished in the 1950s, and the city grew quickly after it. The lake made Lewisville a place the whole metroplex comes to for recreation.

  2. 02

    Three A-train stations

Since June 2011 DCTA’s A-train has stopped at Highland Village/Lewisville Lake, Old Town and Hebron, running north to Denton and south to Trinity Mills, where it meets DART’s Green Line.

  3. 03

    Old Town

The historic downtown sits east of I-35E, with the Lewisville Grand Theater, an arts center that opened in 2011, the year the Old Town station opened.

Vista Ridge and Castle Hills each have a page of their own. Old Town and Hebron are covered right here, after the map.

Old Town Lewisville

Old Town is Lewisville’s historic downtown, east of I-35E around Main Street and Mill Street. Its center is Wayne Ferguson Plaza, an acre and a half of lawn, water walls and an outdoor stage, finished in 2015 where a parking lot used to be. The plaza ties together the Main Street shops, City Hall and the Lewisville Grand Theater, the arts center on Charles Street that opened in January 2011.

The A-train stop is Old Town station, at 617 E. Main Street, half a mile east of the old downtown. From there trains run north to Denton and south to Trinity Mills, where you change to the DART Green Line. The city has planned new building around the station since 2010 and updated that plan in 2017 and 2023.

If you want a plaza, a theater and Main Street within walking distance, and the train on the same street, look here first.

Hebron

Hebron is the south end of Lewisville, around Hebron station and Hebron Parkway, next to the interchange of I-35E and the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SH 121). The parkway is named for the town of Hebron, about four miles east of the station.

Hebron station, at 952 Lakeside Circle, is the last A-train stop in Lewisville before Trinity Mills in Carrollton, where you change to the DART Green Line. Its groundbreaking, on March 27, 2009, was the first on the whole A-train line. It opened in June 2011, and Hebron 121 Station, a development beside it, broke ground the year before.

A state historical marker at the station recalls the Texas International Pop Festival, held on this site in 1969, which drew more than 150,000 people. If you drive SH 121 or I-35E to work and still want a train stop close by, this is a good place to begin.

What we actually do in Lewisville

Three things happen here that a listing grid cannot do for you.

  1. 01

    CALLS

Apartment inventory changes. We call the property before presenting a place instead of publishing a stale listing page.

  2. 02

    YOUR LIST, YOUR RULES

Steering a client toward a property for our own benefit is a breach of a broker duty in Texas, not a matter of preference. If you rule an option out, tell us in writing and it stays out.

  3. 03

    DATED

Every rent on this page shows its source and date. Community rents and specials show the day we checked them; a special comes down 30 days after its last check, and a community we haven’t checked in 60 days comes off our pages.
