South Frisco around Stonebriar Centre, at Preston Road (SH 289) and the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SH 121). The mall fills the corner of those two roads. Go west along SH 121 and you reach the Dallas North Tollway, where IKEA and Riders Field stand.
02 · What is here
Stonebriar Centre, a regional mall with Macy’s, Nordstrom, Dillard’s, JCPenney, a 24-screen AMC theater and a food court with a carousel. Riders Field, home of the Double-A Frisco RoughRiders since it opened on April 3, 2003, is at SH 121 and the Dallas North Tollway; the Comerica Center, the Dallas Stars’ practice facility, opened in Frisco the same year. IKEA’s Frisco store is next to the mall, by that same SH 121 and Dallas North Tollway corner.
03 · Getting around
By car: the Sam Rayburn Tollway, Preston Road and the Dallas North Tollway. No DART rail in Frisco: the city chose to put a share of its sales tax into its economic development corporation instead of joining DART. The transit link is DCTA’s GoZone, on-demand vans that take you from inside Frisco to DART’s Northwest Plano Park & Ride for a flat $3.
