Neighborhoods to start with

  1. Valley Ranch

North of I-635 in Irving, Valley Ranch is a planned area on land that was once a working cattle ranch, and where the Dallas Cowboys used to train. It has no train, so it suits people who drive: the terminals are about21 minminutes away without traffic.

  2. Las Colinas

The Orange Line runs from Las Colinas to Terminal A with no transfer, so an address near one of its stations there, Las Colinas Urban Center or Irving Convention Center, can mean a train commute every day. Las Colinas is also a large office center, which helps a household with one job at the airport and one in an office.

  3. Cypress Waters

A development of the city of Dallas around North Lake, on Coppell’s southern edge. Its Silver Line station, on Belt Line Road, is two stops from Terminal B, and it has a park-and-ride.

  4. Coppell: Riverchase and Old Town

Part of the airport’s land is inside Coppell’s city limits. Coppell is not a DART city, so there are no DART trains or buses in town; the nearest station is at Cypress Waters, just south. Riverchase, on the east side, and Old Town Coppell, in the center, suit people who drive to work12 min.

  5. Downtown Carrollton

Three Silver Line stops from Terminal B, and on the DART Green Line too, which runs to Love Field and downtown Dallas. It works for a household where one person works at DFW and the other in Dallas, or for anyone who flies out of both airports.

Working shifts at the airport

  • Trains don’t run around the clock. The Silver Line leaves Terminal B from 4:28 a.m. to 12:28 a.m. on weekdays and 5:28 a.m. to 12:28 a.m. on weekends, every 30 minutes at weekday rush hours and on weekends after 8 a.m., and about hourly otherwise. The Orange Line leaves Terminal A from about 4:10 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. every day, and TEXRail leaves Terminal B from 5:10 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. every day; the last trains of both run only part of the way.
  • If you start before the first train or finish after the last one, tell us your real hours. We time the drive at those hours, and check parking at each community before it goes on your list.
  • Switching lines at the airport: the Orange Line stops at Terminal A, the Silver Line and TEXRail at Terminal B, and the walk from the Terminal B station to the Orange Line at Terminal A takes about five minutes.
  • Employee parking and badge offices are set by the airport and your employer, not by the terminal your train serves (DFW’s employee lots are Employee North and Employee South, and your company issues the parking tag), so tell us where you park or report and we time the trip to that point.

Working at the airport or flying every week

DFW handled85.66 millionpassengers in 2025, fourth in the world, and it is American Airlines’ largest hub. American’s headquarters is in Fort Worth, just south of the airport, at 1 Skyview Drive.
  • Relocating with a training class or a new base: tell us your dates. We ask each community about leases shorter than 12 months, and about a job offer letter in place of pay stubs, before it goes on your list.
  • If you fly for work rather than at work, the Orange Line and Silver Line trips above are also the way to skip airport parking.

Approval is always the community’s decision. We never promise it.
