Questions about Oak Lawn

  1. Is Oak Lawn the same as Uptown?

Not exactly. Until the late 1990s, the area now called Uptown was the eastern part of Oak Lawn; it took the Uptown name in the early 2000s. The Turtle Creek neighborhood, along Turtle Creek Boulevard, is part of Oak Lawn too.

  2. Is there a train to the Medical District?

Yes. The DART Green and Orange lines stop at Southwestern Medical District/Parkland station, inside Oak Lawn.

  3. Is the Katy Trail nearby?

Yes. The trail runs through Uptown and Oak Lawn.

  4. Which parks are on Turtle Creek?

Reverchon Park, built in 1915 and one of the oldest parks in Dallas, covers 46 acres along the creek, with its main entrance at Maple Avenue and Turtle Creek Boulevard and a 1920s ballpark. Turtle Creek Park, once called Lee Park and Oak Lawn Park, is also in Oak Lawn.

  5. How much is a one-bedroom in Oak Lawn?

Among the communities we track in Oak Lawn, most listed one-bedroom rents ran $1,490–$2,677 a month on October 9, 2026, with a typical size of 780 sq ft. Specials can lower the average; we confirm today’s price before a place goes on your list.

  6. Is AptViva free?

Yes. The community pays us after you move in, and nothing is added to your rent.
