Royal Lane runs east to west to the north of the lake. Bachman station, open since December 2010, sits at the west end of the lake, by the interchange of I-35E and Loop 12, Northwest Highway.

North of the lake, the Green Line also stops at Walnut Hill/Denton and Royal Lane stations, both opened in December 2010, on its way to Farmers Branch and Carrollton. Burbank station, on Denton Drive along the west side of Love Field, has Green and Orange line trains too.
