Downtown Carrollton in three stops

01 · Where it is Carrollton’s historic downtown, around Carrollton Square near where I-35E meets Belt Line Road. The station is at 1013 North Denton Drive.

02 · What is here

Carrollton Square and the streets around it. The 1924 Missouri–Kansas–Texas (MKT) railroad depot still stands; it was moved in 2008 to make room for the Green Line and named a historic site in 2010. Three railroads once crossed here: the MKT (1878), the Cotton Belt (1888) and the Frisco (1908).

03 · Getting around

Downtown Carrollton station serves the DART Green Line south to Farmers Branch, Love Field and downtown Dallas, and the Silver Line west to DFW Airport and east to Addison, Richardson and Plano. It also has a bus route and two on-demand microtransit zones. By car: I-35E and Belt Line Road.

Two lines, two levels, one old depot

Upstairs: the Green Line

A raised track with one island platform, open since December 6, 2010. One stop north is Trinity Mills, where the A-train starts; one stop south is Farmers Branch, then on to Love Field and downtown Dallas.

At street level: the Silver Line

Two side platforms, open since October 25, 2025. West, the next stops are Cypress Waters, DFW Airport North and DFW Airport, Terminal B; east, Addison, Knoll Trail and UT Dallas.

Around the platforms

A parking lot with 251 spaces, DART bus route 229 and two on-demand microtransit zones. An A-train extension from Trinity Mills to this station has been proposed.

The railroads made the town. When the Cotton Belt crossed the Katy here in 1888, Carrollton grew into a shipping point for livestock, cotton, cottonseed and grain, and it outgrew Trinity Mills to the north. The city incorporated in 1913. Today the same crossing carries the Green Line and the Silver Line.
