Lower Greenville in three stops
01 Where it is
Lower Greenville runs along Greenville Avenue in East Dallas, south of Mockingbird Lane and west of Lakewood, roughly from Mercedes Avenue to Belmont Avenue.
02 What is here
Greenville Avenue is the point: restaurants, bars, boutiques and live music, with the Granada Theater, a 1946 movie house turned music venue. The streets behind it are older neighborhoods: Vickery Place, Belmont Addition, Glencoe, Greenland Hills and Stonewall Terrace.
03 History
Before the North Central Expressway, Greenville Avenue was the main road from north Dallas into downtown; it still points there.
